I’m sitting here, listening to The Two Towers score (my favorite being King of the Golden Hall) and I’m thinking about “Avatar”.

Now, I sincerely hope that most people reading this know what “Avatar” is. And if you don’t, go do your research, and then come back. Or, let me tell you. It’s James Cameron’s new film (term film being used loosely). It’s an action adventure, romance, sci-fi, and just all around an incredible masterpiece. When you go see this, you must see it in 3-D. mainly because thats the whole reason it was made. Cameron spent years trying to figure out how to make this film, and he waited long enough so that technology would be advanced enough to show the world what he had in his head. Now, if that’s not incredible, I don’t know what is. He, along with his studios, invented new film making technology to make this film happen. With the exception of Gollum in The Lord of the Rings (Cameron collaborated with WETA Digital, the effects house founded by Peter Jackson), I’ve never seen such realistic animation. Not only is this film visually beautiful, and groundbreaking, the story is there. You cant make a great movie out of a bad script, but you sure as hell can make a bad movie out of a good script. And this script was beautiful, meaningful, and emotional. Add that to the amazing effects and colors and incredible use of animation, and you’ve got a winner. James Cameron is remarkable, and I really cannot wait to see what happens next, with this type of technology.

I’m sitting here trying to wrap my head around what I saw. I can’t even get my mind right. I don’t think that there is any way I can express in words how much of an impact this movie had on me. I shouldn’t even call it a film, or a movie. It was an experience.
